MathFun Privacy Policy
MathFun is a free multiplication practice game provided by Nihon Kanun K.K. This policy explains the data used by MathFun, including its online matches, rankings and backups. Updated September 16, 2026.
Your choice
Practice, computer battles and two-player games on one device can be played without sending profiles or scores to MathFun servers. Before enabling online features, the app explains the data sharing and asks for your choice. Parents or guardians should make this choice for children. Use a nickname rather than a child’s real name.
Online play and rankings
When online features are enabled, MathFun receives Game Center player identifiers and the Game Center display name to authenticate the player. We store the profile identifier, chosen nickname, answer statistics, practice totals, match results, rankings and match timestamps associated with that player. These data support authentication, matching, gameplay, score calculation, records and service security. Your chosen profile nickname and ranked scores can be seen by other players. Opponents also receive the game state needed to play a match. We do not receive your Apple Account password, email address or payment details from Game Center.
Local files and iCloud
Profiles, vehicle choices, preferences and statistics are stored on your device. If iCloud automatic backup is enabled and iCloud is available, backup files are stored in your own iCloud container. A backup includes profiles, statistics, selected settings, a device identifier and a device label so you can distinguish backups. Recent automatic backups are retained separately for each device. Exported files are saved wherever you choose. MathFun’s game server does not store these backup files. Apple manages iCloud under its own privacy terms.
Service providers and tracking
Cloudflare hosts the MathFun game service and processes data on our behalf, including network information needed to deliver and protect the service. Apple provides Game Center and iCloud. These services may process data outside your country. MathFun has no advertising SDK, no cross-app advertising tracking and no third-party behavioral analytics SDK. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Data is shared with service providers only as needed to operate and protect these features, subject to their data protection terms.
Retention and deletion
Server profile names and statistics are kept while the profile remains active. To delete a profile’s uploaded name, statistics, ranking entries and individual match outcomes, delete that profile in Settings → profile management while Game Center and internet access are available. If offline, the deletion request is kept on the device and sent when it can reconnect. Minimal profile and owner identifiers remain as a deletion marker to prevent an old upload from recreating deleted records. Non-personal match identifiers may remain to prevent duplicate scoring. Temporary matching and invitation records expire as part of the service.
Change your choice
In Settings → Privacy & Support, turn off online features to stop new profile and score uploads. This does not erase previously uploaded records; delete the relevant profiles to remove them. Local play remains available. Turn off automatic backup in profile backup settings if you no longer want new iCloud backups. Delete existing iCloud backup files and exported files separately in Files or your iCloud storage settings. Restoring a backup can restore local records; the app does not silently grant online consent from a backup.
Children and support requests
We do not ask for a child’s age, school, home address or real name. A parent or guardian can contact us to ask about, correct or request removal of a child’s information. If you email support, we use your email and the information you voluntarily provide to answer the request. Do not send passwords, verification codes or unnecessary information about children. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations.
